Internet Suspension in Azad Kashmir: Reasons Revealed

Azad Kashmir (Web Desk): According to a document issued by a communications authority, severe rainfall, floods, and landslides last year caused extensive damage to communication infrastructure, which has not yet been fully restored.

The document states that the damaged communication systems in affected areas are currently being operated through temporary and interim arrangements, which is affecting their performance.

In several areas, systems are functioning at reduced capacity, leading to increased network load and frequent service disruptions.

The floods also caused large-scale damage to underground and aerial communication cables, poles, and other installations.

According to the document, several kilometers of communication lines were affected, while hundreds of poles and other equipment were destroyed.

It further adds that multiple communication centers and solar power systems were also rendered non-functional due to floodwaters, affecting the overall efficiency of the system.

Although emergency temporary restoration work has been carried out in the affected areas, these measures are not a permanent solution and may lead to further disruptions at any time.

The authority has requested additional funding from the government for the complete restoration of the damaged infrastructure so that the communication system can be made fully operational again.
