California (Web Desk) — Just weeks after sales began for Apple’s new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, users have started reporting changes in the phones’ exterior colour. According to reports, the issue has been observed across different models, although burgundy-coloured phones appear to be more affected.
Users say the discolouration is particularly noticeable around the three cameras on the back of the phone. Some users claim that the original colour does not return even after cleaning the device, and that the issue is not caused by dust, grease or any visible damage.
The exact cause of the discolouration remains unknown. One user suggested that heat generated during camera use might be responsible for the colour change in that area. Complaints from multiple users indicate that the issue is not limited to a single phone.
Apple has not yet issued an official statement on the matter, and it remains unclear whether the company will offer repairs or replacements for affected devices.
Previously, some orange-coloured iPhone 17 Pro models also drew complaints about discolouration. Last year, the company replaced affected phones free of charge. However, according to available reports, the issue was not reported on as large a scale with the iPhone 17 Pro as is now being claimed for the iPhone 18 Pro.
