Tehran (Monitoring Desk) — Iran has warned neighboring and regional countries that if their territory or military installations are used in any future attack against Iran by the United States or Israel, Tehran’s response will be different from before.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said at a press conference in Tehran that countries in the region should review their actions, particularly those that provided their facilities for use by the United States and Israel during the recent war.
Esmail Baghaei said that if the United States and Israel launch aggression against Iran again in the future and the territory of any regional country is used for this purpose, Iran’s response will be different.
He said Tehran attaches importance to its relations with neighboring countries; however, it will not accept other countries facilitating action against its territory.
The Iranian spokesman urged regional countries to prevent their territory and facilities from being used by parties that, according to Iran, are involved in military operations in the region. He said Iran has recently conveyed its concerns clearly to its regional neighbors.
The statement comes at a time when tensions between Iran and the United States remain high. Tehran has also reiterated in recent days that in the event of any new US military action, its response could be harsher than before.
According to Reuters, Iranian officials have also considered expanding the scope of any potential retaliation beyond US facilities to countries that support US military operations.
Meanwhile, diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States are also continuing. Tehran has presented its conditions on various issues, including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, while major differences remain in negotiations between the two countries.
