Iran Mocks Trump, Dismisses Claims of Talks as Unrealistic Dreams

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) Iranian state media has sarcastically rejected US President Donald Trump’s claims of positive negotiations with Iran. The state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting shared a video clip of Donald Trump on its social media account, calling his statement unrealistic. In the caption accompanying the video, the broadcaster said that Trump is “building castles in the air,” also using a Persian proverb that reflects unrealistic desires and impossible dreams. The proverb suggests that a camel dreams of cotton seeds, sometimes imagining eating them in abundance and sometimes one by one—an expression used for someone indulging in impossible wishes. In the shared video, Donald Trump is seen telling journalists that talks between the United States and Iran are progressing positively and that a deal may be reached soon. He added that if an agreement is finalized, it will be announced and free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz would be ensured; however, Iranian media has dismissed these claims as mere wishful thinking.
