Tehran (Monitoring Desk) — Following US President Donald Trump’s threat to attack Kharg Island, a key hub for Iranian oil exports, Iran has strongly reacted, saying it is prepared to counter any possible action.
According to media reports, in response to US attacks on Iran, Tehran has claimed that it targeted American military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, while making it clear that it is fully prepared for any situation.
Responding to Trump’s statement, Iranian Parliament’s National Security Commission spokesperson Ebrahim Rezaei rejected the US threat and said, “Come, we are waiting for you.”
He said Iran has the capability to counter any possible military action against Kharg Island and that complete preparations have been made in this regard.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that aggressive statements cannot weaken the dignity, determination, and resistance of the Iranian nation.
It should be noted that tensions between Iran and the United States have further increased following recent US attacks and allegations. US President Donald Trump had justified the attacks by saying that the actions were carried out in response to Iran’s targeting of commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
