Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has criticized the defense relationship between the United States and Israel, describing it as a “parasitic relationship” rather than one based on mutual benefit.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Abbas Araghchi claimed that the United States had spent $11 billion in American taxpayers’ money on Israel’s missile defense systems over the past three years.
According to the Iranian foreign minister, the United States has also used more missile-intercepting interceptors to defend Israel than Israel itself has used.
Araghchi said the situation demonstrated that US-Israel relations were better described as a “parasitic relationship” rather than a partnership based on mutual benefit.
The Iranian foreign minister’s statement comes amid ongoing tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States in the Middle East, as debate over defense spending also continues.
