Iran’s Economic Siege Is US Economic Terrorism: Araghchi

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has strongly criticized the economic sanctions and pressure imposed on Iran by the United States, describing them as economic terrorism.

Responding to recent statements by US President Donald Trump, Abbas Araghchi said Washington’s economic policy toward Iran is becoming a threat not only to Iran but also to the global economy and the sovereignty of various countries.

In a statement on the social media platform X, the Iranian foreign minister referred to a report by the American newspaper The New York Times, saying that the US national debt has reached approximately $40 trillion.

According to him, Washington is increasing aggressive economic measures and pressure against Iran to divert global attention from its own domestic economic difficulties.
