Lahore (Sports Desk): Cricket Ireland has appointed former Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott as a short-term consultant for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) series against Afghanistan.
According to Cricket Ireland, Jonathan Trott will join Ireland’s men’s cricket team next week and will remain with the squad for 14 days to assist in preparations for the home series against Afghanistan.
The former England cricketer will guide the Irish team ahead of the series and will also help the squad with strategic planning during the first and second ODI matches.
Cricket Ireland stated that Jonathan Trott’s involvement will be important not only for better planning of the series against Afghanistan but also for preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier scheduled for early 2027.
