Tel Aviv (Monitoring Desk) According to a report by Israeli newspaper Maariv, in less than three years, the Israeli army has used as much ammunition as it had used over the previous three decades, increasing pressure on military personnel, equipment, and financial resources.
According to the report, during this period, the Israeli Air Force’s operations were equivalent to approximately nine years of activity under normal circumstances, while thousands of engines of tanks and armored vehicles needed to be replaced.
The report said around 53,000 reservists are serving every day, while billions of shekels are being spent on mobilizing reserve forces.
According to Maariv, 1,138 Israeli army personnel have been killed, while physical or psychological problems have been officially identified among 11,730 soldiers. The number of personnel suffering from psychological trauma is also expected to rise further.
The report also mentioned signs of exhaustion among professional soldiers, saying some personnel are choosing less stressful duties instead of command responsibilities, while others have left military service.
