Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Indian actress Jasmine Bhasin has revealed that criticism of her complexion and physical appearance during childhood left her struggling with feelings of inferiority, and she used to pray at a temple to become beautiful.
Speaking recently on Jay Madan’s podcast, Jasmine Bhasin said she was often called “dark-skinned” because of her complexion as a child. She also faced comments about her acne and slim physique. These attitudes left her feeling hurt and disheartened.
The actress said that when she was a child, her father took her to the Bijasan Mata Temple in Rajasthan. There, she climbed several steps and offered a special prayer, asking God to make her so beautiful that one day people would wish to meet her.
According to Jasmine Bhasin, she would often visit the temple solely to offer this prayer. She said she was very innocent at the time and firmly believed that her wish would eventually come true.
During the podcast, the actress also spoke about religious tolerance, saying that she believes in all religions and respects them all.
