JI’s Development Work in Nine Karachi Towns a Game Changer

Karachi (Pakistan News) Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the development work being carried out by Jamaat-e-Islami in nine towns of Karachi is proving to be a game changer, while the party is introducing a modern education system in government schools.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Abu Turab Government School in Karachi’s Gulberg Town, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that Sindh’s budget was strengthening a few privileged individuals, while Punjab’s chief minister was travelling around in an aircraft purchased for Rs11 billion. Nation-building is not among politicians’ priorities, he added.

He said development work was underway wherever Jamaat-e-Islami town chairmen were present. The party was working beyond the scope of its authority, but town administrations did not have the authority to collect garbage. Half of the city was deprived of drinking water, he said, adding that Jamaat-e-Islami would continue its struggle to secure greater municipal powers.

The Jamaat-e-Islami emir said that the education and transport situation at Karachi University was poor. Nine-point buses would be handed over to the university administration tomorrow.

Congratulating the students of Abu Turab School, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said Jamaat-e-Islami was introducing a modern education system in government schools. Student enrolment was increasing after schools were renovated and improved. Gulberg Town would issue 10,000 education cards, while the programme would also be introduced across Karachi.

He said 41,000 schools in Sindh lacked basic facilities and 7.8 million children were out of school, raising serious questions about the Sindh government’s 18-year performance.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman further announced that sit-ins against the petroleum levy would begin at 150 locations across the country from Friday.
