Karachi Logistics Facility Granted Customs Port Status

ISLAMABAD (Commerce Desk): The federal government has designated Fast Track Projects and Logistics in Karachi as a customs port for a period of five years, with the official notification issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to the FBR notification, the decision was taken under the powers granted by the relevant provisions of the Customs Act 1969, while the previous SRO issued on November 13, 2020 has been revoked.

The notification stated that M/s Fast Track Projects and Logistics (Private) Limited, located in Karachi, has been granted customs port status. The facility covers an area of approximately 10 acres.

The customs port consists of various plots located in the North Western Industrial Zone (NWIZ), off Port Qasim Main Road, Karachi.

According to the FBR, the customs port will be used for the customs clearance of imported and exported goods, as well as specified items.

The notification has also defined the boundaries of the customs port, including roads and relevant plots located on its northern, southern, eastern, and western sides.

According to the notification, this decision will remain effective for five years from the date of issuance.
