Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar) — Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information Ikhtiar Wali Khan has said that whether or not governor’s rule is imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it is necessary to improve the situation in the province.
Addressing a press conference alongside Member of the National Assembly Samar Bilour, Ikhtiar Wali Khan expressed concern over the law and order and drug situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the security situation in the province was continuously deteriorating and that practical measures were essential to improve it.
Ikhtiar Wali Khan said governor’s rule could be a possible constitutional option; however, the real need was to improve the situation in the province, whether governor’s rule was imposed or not.
He said all facts concerning Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been presented before the media and the public today.
On the occasion, Samar Bilour alleged that the availability of drugs was increasing in the province during the government of Sohail Afridi and that the drug trade was spreading to other parts of the country. According to her, 960 kilograms of drugs had been seized from Peshawar alone.
Samar Bilour further alleged that well-known drug smugglers and dealers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sit with the leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
