Lahore (Commerce Desk) — Vision Alliance swept the Associate Class elections of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, winning all 15 seats.
Out of a total of 19,087 votes in the Associate Class, 9,728 votes were cast. Vision Alliance secured 4,523 panel votes, while PPBA Alliance came second with 3,470 panel votes.
The PIAF Mian Shafqat Group received 39 panel votes, 310 votes were rejected, while 1,386 split votes were cast.
A day earlier, Vision Alliance had also won 13 of the 15 seats in the Corporate Class elections, while two candidates from PPBA Alliance were successful. Thus, in the phased elections for 30 Executive Committee members, 28 candidates from Vision Alliance and two from PPBA Alliance were elected.
Vision Alliance leader Khawaja Shahzaib Akram thanked Lahore’s business community for the victory and said they would fulfill the promises made to the business community and play their role in resolving traders’ problems.
Newly elected President Ali Hasam Asghar, Senior Vice President and Vice President will assume charge of their respective positions from October 1.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also expressed her best wishes to Vision Alliance leader Ali Hasam Asghar and other successful candidates, expressing hope that the office-bearers of the Lahore Chamber would cooperate with the Punjab government in promoting industry and trade.
