LNG Supply Concerns: Government Decides to Import Three Cargoes From Qatar

Karachi (Commerce Desk) — Amid growing uncertainty over energy transportation through the Strait of Hormuz, the government has decided to receive three LNG cargoes from Qatar during October.

According to sources, the government is also preparing to contact Iranian authorities to ensure the safe and uninterrupted movement of LNG cargoes and avoid possible disruptions along the maritime route.

The development comes as QatarEnergy has extended the force majeure period concerning LNG supplies to Pakistan until November 4.

Meanwhile, officials have expressed concerns that disruptions in energy supplies could continue during the upcoming winter season, prompting immediate and alternative measures to address a possible gas crisis in the country.
