Madhuri Dixit Returns as TV Host After 24 Years

Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Renowned Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit will return to television hosting duties after a gap of 24 years. She has been appointed as the host of the new season of the popular quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati.”

The 59-year-old actress said she is extremely happy to be part of a programme that inspires people to move forward through knowledge and determination. According to her, the programme is not merely a question-and-answer competition but also a platform that highlights curiosity, hope, aspirations and the courage to pursue dreams.

Madhuri Dixit said that as a Marathi, she is excited to meet the contestants, hear their inspiring life stories and witness their dreams turning into reality.

The new season of the show will be presented under the title “Ab Khel Badlega,” which is being described as a new change in the programme’s popular format.

Madhuri previously hosted Sony Entertainment Television’s programme “Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai” in 2002. She later remained prominent on television as a judge on various dance competitions and was part of programmes such as “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” and “Dance Deewane.”

The programme is based on the format of the globally renowned quiz show and gained exceptional popularity in India under the hosting of Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan hosted almost every season after its launch in 2000, except the third season, when Shah Rukh Khan took over the hosting duties.

Madhuri Dixit will become the second woman in India to host the programme. Before her, the Tamil-language version was hosted by Radhika Sarathkumar.
