Major Semiconductor Breakthrough as NED and Software Board Sign Agreement

Karachi (Web Desk): In the presence of Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi and Federal Minister for IT Shiza Fatima, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NED University and the Pakistan Software Export Board.

The Sindh governor said Pakistan’s digital future is linked to modern technology and the capabilities of its youth. He said the collaboration between NED University and the Pakistan Software Export Board is an important step toward developing the semiconductor sector in the country.

He said effective links between universities and the technology industry are essential for equipping young people with modern skills. The Semiconductor Education and Research Center will provide youth with advanced training and research opportunities.

Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi said the aim is to make young people not merely users of technology but creators and innovators. He said the government wants to build a Digital Pakistan where a lack of technology and connectivity does not become an obstacle to development.

The Sindh governor further said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s target is to increase Pakistan’s IT exports to $25 billion by 2030.
