According to a report by the Freedom Committee of a Palestinian journalist organization, around 60 to 75 percent of journalists in Gaza have either lost their homes or have been forcibly displaced since October 7, 2023.
The report titled “Media Without Walls” stated that during this period, 265 journalists have been killed, marking the highest rate of journalist fatalities in any conflict globally. Israel–Gaza war (2023–present)
According to the report, 80 percent of media offices and institutions in Gaza have been fully or partially destroyed, severely damaging the journalistic system and leaving it in what is described as an almost completely collapsed state.
It further stated that under the current conditions, journalists in Gaza are reporting not from traditional newsrooms but from tents, streets, and temporary shelters.
The report also noted that journalists rely primarily on mobile phones, while limited and unstable internet connectivity is severely affecting the transmission and publication of news.
