New York (Web Desk) – Technology company Meta has announced the withdrawal of its artificial intelligence-powered image generation feature, “Muse Image,” just days after its launch, following strong user criticism and privacy concerns.
The feature was introduced last week through Meta’s AI assistant, Meta AI, and was the company’s first public image generation model made available to general users.
Unlike other AI-powered image generation tools, Muse Image created new images by using photos from public Instagram accounts as reference material, raising significant concerns among users regarding privacy and the protection of personal information.
In response to the growing criticism, Meta decided to withdraw the feature, stating that its intention had been to provide users with a powerful creative tool while allowing them to choose whether their public content could be used for that purpose.
In its statement, the company said that after considering user feedback, it concluded that the feature had not met users’ expectations and therefore decided to discontinue it for the time being.
