Mira Sethi Opens Up About Divorce Experience

Karachi (Showbiz Desk): Pakistani actress, writer, and host Mira Sethi has spoken in detail for the first time about her married life and divorce experience, saying that getting married and later deciding to separate were her own choices, so she does not consider anyone else responsible for them.

Speaking on a recent podcast, Mira Sethi said that after her divorce, she got the opportunity to understand many important aspects of life. According to her, the experience taught her that a person should not make every decision solely based on their inner feelings or emotions, while changing one's true personality just to maintain any relationship is also not right.

She said that whether the relationship is with a spouse, a friend, a colleague at the workplace, or anyone else, completely changing oneself according to others' wishes can prove harmful.

Mira Sethi said that people often want others to adapt according to their preferences, but with time she realized that maintaining one's identity and personality is far more important.

The actress said that the end of her married life was certainly a difficult phase for her, but the experience made her mentally stronger and more mature. According to her, she has now moved forward from that stage, which is why she does not feel hesitant while discussing the topic.

Mira Sethi also spoke about society's attitudes toward divorced women, saying that women often face criticism after separation and are held responsible for the failure of a relationship.

She said that her marriage was not the result of any pressure or compulsion; rather, she made the decision by her own choice, with love and careful thought. Therefore, she accepts responsibility for her divorce herself and neither blames her former husband nor anyone else.

It is worth mentioning that Mira Sethi belongs to a prominent journalistic family. Her father, Najam Sethi, and mother, Jugnu Mohsin, are among Pakistan's notable journalism figures, while her brother, Ali Sethi, is a well-known name in the music industry.
