Washington (Web Desk) The United States space agency NASA has announced a 30 million dollar rescue mission to prevent its nearly 22-year-old Swift Observatory from falling back to Earth.
Under the mission, a three-armed robotic spacecraft developed by the private space company Katalyst Space Technologies will dock with the Swift Observatory and move it into a higher and more stable orbit, allowing it to continue observing powerful cosmic explosions and other astronomical phenomena in the universe.
The spacecraft will be launched via a Pegasus rocket from the Marshall Islands with the help of an aircraft, and the launch is expected to take place this week.
