Kathmandu (Monitoring Desk) — Severe floods in Nepal have caused widespread destruction. According to the Ministry of Education, at least 19 educational institutions have been affected in the three worst-hit districts, while more than 200 students have reportedly gone missing.
The latest report from the Ministry of Education and Sports stated that nine schools have been completely destroyed, while seven have suffered partial damage. Reports have also been received of students and teachers going missing from several educational institutions.
According to officials, around 20 students were swept away by floodwaters, while schools in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts have been the worst affected by the floods.
