Nepal (Monitoring Desk): Nepalese climber Dawa Sherpa has been found alive after being missing for six days on Mount Everest.
According to international media reports, his family had begun preparations for his funeral after presuming him dead, but he was later discovered alive after an extensive search operation.
Dawa Sherpa said he survived six days on the snow-covered mountain by eating snow to stay hydrated and consuming chocolates from his pockets.
He explained that he was not actually “lost,” but became unable to move forward after his oxygen cylinder ran out.
Reports say Dawa Sherpa has been shifted to a hospital in Kathmandu, where he is currently receiving treatment for dehydration, frostbite, and a broken bone.
Every year, hundreds of climbers from around the world travel to Nepal to summit Mount Everest, and many lose their lives due to extreme weather conditions and dangerous terrain during the expedition.
