Washington (Monitoring Desk) US President Donald Trump has said that final decisions regarding a potential agreement with Iran will be made by Washington, adding that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must follow US policy.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump said that despite ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, the negotiation process with Tehran would not be affected.
He stated that even after Iran’s missile attacks on Israel, his position remains unchanged and he still seeks a possible agreement with Iran.
According to US media reports, Trump also advised Netanyahu to avoid immediate retaliatory action against Iran and to give diplomacy a chance.
The reports further suggest that Washington remains hopeful about progress in ongoing negotiations with Iran.
Trump warned that if a deal is not reached with Iran, the United States could consider strong measures, including continued economic pressure or even military options.
In light of current regional tensions, the US continues to emphasize a diplomatic solution, while the situation is being described as highly sensitive on the global stage.
