New Awam Express Train from Peshawar to Karachi Inaugurated, Modern Facilities Introduced

Peshawar (Pakistan News) Pakistan Railways has officially launched the new Awam Express train service from Peshawar to Karachi.

The inauguration ceremony was held at Peshawar Cantonment Railway Station, where Secretary and Chairman Railways Syed Mazhar Ali Shah formally inaugurated the new service. Former cricketer Shahid Afridi also attended the event.

The new Awam Express is equipped with modern facilities, including eight air-conditioned coaches, comfortable seating, and various passenger amenities. The train has a capacity to accommodate 1,234 passengers.

The inaugural train departed from Peshawar at 8:30 pm and will travel through several cities including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rohri, Nawabshah, and Hyderabad before reaching Karachi.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman Railways said that providing modern facilities to passengers is a top priority and that railway services are being further improved.

He added that despite recent challenges, the morale of national institutions remains high and Pakistan Railways will continue to serve as a symbol of national unity.

Shahid Afridi also addressed the ceremony, welcoming the launch of the train service and praying for affected individuals. He also mentioned the installation of a water filtration plant at the railway station.
