Niger: At least 50 dead after vehicle breakdown in Sahara Desert

Niger (Web Desk): At least 50 people have died in a tragic incident in the Sahara Desert after a vehicle broke down while crossing the harsh desert region.

According to media reports, the affected individuals were traveling through the desert when their vehicle developed a fault mid-journey. With no timely assistance and under extreme heat conditions, the passengers remained stranded in the desert for several days.

As a result, most of them died due to dehydration and severe heat exposure.

Local authorities said that the deceased include women and children, while a few survivors have been rescued and provided with medical treatment.

It is worth noting that such tragic incidents have occurred in the Sahara Desert in the past as well, mainly due to illegal migration routes and extremely difficult travel conditions.
