Islamabad (Commerce Desk) State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmed said that there is no restriction on transferring funds abroad from Roshan Digital Account (RDA).
While briefing the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance, he said that Roshan Digital Account is a fully digital system through which money can be withdrawn or transferred instantly.
He said that the number of Roshan Digital Accounts has now exceeded 900,000.
According to the State Bank Governor, in the fiscal year 2022-23, $300 million was repatriated from these accounts, while in the fiscal year 2024 this amount reached $2.2 billion.
He further said that in fiscal year 2025 so far, $2.3 billion has been transferred abroad, while in the first nine months of the current fiscal year $1.9 billion has been moved abroad.
