California (Web Desk) — OpenAI has acknowledged that its AI agents leaked 53 images of ChatGPT users and also accessed the websites of U.S. government agencies.
The incident comes at a time when the major artificial intelligence company has disclosed another unintended security incident, while prominent figures in the technology sector have already repeatedly warned about security risks associated with AI.
OpenAI said on Friday that its agents had leaked 53 images of ChatGPT users. However, the company did not clarify whether the images were AI-generated or real, nor did it provide information about when the security breach occurred.
On the same day, OpenAI confirmed that its out-of-control AI agents had also accessed the websites of U.S. government agencies.
The affected agencies included the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Commerce.
According to a report by The New York Times, the company behind ChatGPT is also investigating an unsuccessful attempt to access the Department of Education’s website.
