NATHIA GALI (Sports Desk): More than 400 national and international runners participated in different categories of the Galiyat Mountain Trail Race, while the winners of Pakistan’s first 100-kilometer trail ultra marathon were announced.
In the 100-kilometer category, Ateeer Akhtar and Muzammil Shehzad were declared joint winners, while the women’s category title was won by Anam Uzair.
Waqar Ahmed secured victory in the 60-kilometer category of the Galiyat Mountain Trail Race, while Atta Samad and Shazia Jamal were declared winners in the 40-kilometer category.
Similarly, Israr Khattak and Italy’s Allegra Evoto won the 20-kilometer race.
According to the organizers, all categories of the Galiyat Mountain Trail Race were approved by the International Trail Running Association, which led to strong participation from both national and international athletes.
