Islamabad (Commerce Desk) Under the upcoming federal budget, more than Rs 70 billion has been proposed for development projects of Members of Parliament, while a total of Rs 72.70 billion has been recommended for various projects under the Cabinet Division and Establishment Division.
According to budget documents, around Rs 2 billion has been proposed for projects of the Cabinet Division, excluding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program, while Rs 1.70 billion has been earmarked for projects under the Establishment Division.
For the upgradation of Parliament Lodges, Rs 56 million has been proposed, while Rs 5.5 billion may be spent on the restoration and upgradation of the National Archives of Pakistan.
In the energy sector, Rs 194 million has been recommended for solar system upgradation and energy-saving initiatives. Similarly, over Rs 1.58 billion has been proposed for the Islamabad Technopolis project.
More than Rs 700 million has been recommended for digitizing the Federal Public Service Commission’s examination system, aimed at modernizing the testing process.
Several projects for women’s welfare are also part of the budget. Rs 167 million has been proposed for a working women’s hostel in Islamabad, while over Rs 820 million is estimated for residential facilities for women officers.
According to the documents, these projects aim to improve the performance of government institutions, promote digitalization, ensure energy efficiency, and provide better facilities for women.
