Pakistan, Greece Agree to Boost Trade and Strengthen Business Ties

Lahore (Commerce Desk) — Greek Ambassador Eleni Pouriki visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she met with President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on further strengthening trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Greece.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to increase business ties to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. The Greek ambassador said that strong relations between the private sectors of both countries could play an important role in promoting economic cooperation.

Eleni Pouriki said there was a need to promote direct business ties between the Pakistani and Greek business communities. She said that employment opportunities are available in Greece for skilled Pakistani workers.

She said that Pakistani workers have opportunities to work in agriculture, engineering, and other sectors in Greece. She added that along with the textile industry, tourism and renewable energy sectors should also be given special importance in trade between the two countries.

The Greek ambassador further said that Greece could share its expertise and experience in tourism infrastructure with Pakistan, enabling Pakistan to further improve its tourism sector.

On the occasion, Lahore Chamber President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol said that Pakistan and Greece should increase mutual cooperation in the fields of agriculture, minerals, and mining. Pakistan can greatly benefit from Greece’s modern technology, technical expertise, and experience.

He said that Pakistan could also benefit from Greece’s experience in tourism. There is a need to further promote exchanges of business delegations and direct business-to-business meetings between the two countries.
