Lahore (Sports Desk): Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani has said that the current year is proving to be significant for the revival and development of hockey in Pakistan.
He said that PHF is paying full attention to the development and promotion of women’s hockey along with men’s hockey, while efforts are underway to establish a strong and consistent system for women’s hockey from the grassroots level to the national team.
According to Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani, after the successful organization of the National Under-21 Women’s Hockey Championship, Pakistan’s junior women’s team represented the country in an Under-21 tournament held in Oman, while the team is now also performing well in the ongoing Under-18 Championship there.
The PHF President said that participation in international competitions will be an important milestone in improving players’ abilities and will help prepare them for major global events in the future.
He said that the federation will continue investing in the development, training, and improvement of the capabilities of both junior and senior women’s teams.
Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani further said that PHF is committed to providing world-class facilities in various areas of the sport, including fitness, technical skills, modern strategies, sports science, and the use of advanced technology.
