ISLAMABAD (Commerce Desk): Important progress has been made regarding the expansion of trade between Pakistan and Iran, with a high-level Iranian trade delegation expected to visit Pakistan next month.
According to sources, the Iranian trade delegation is likely to arrive in Pakistan during the first week of August, where important and decisive talks on Pakistan-Iran trade matters are expected to be held in Islamabad.
Sources said that a three-day trade meeting will be held at Serena Islamabad, where senior officials from both countries will discuss measures to promote bilateral trade, enhance economic cooperation, and strengthen trade relations.
During the talks, discussions will be held on customs matters, border trade, removal of trade barriers, and various proposals to increase bilateral trade.
According to sources, the important visit is expected to bring significant progress in trade relations between Pakistan and Iran.
According to the Federal Ministry of Finance, Iranian Deputy Minister of Transport Mehrān Qorbani and Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Mehdi Dousti met with Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani, during which they discussed Pakistan-Iran economic cooperation, trade, and the promotion of connectivity.
According to the Ministry of Finance, senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), State Bank of Pakistan, Ministry of Petroleum, Communications, and Railways also participated in the meeting.
