Pakistan Secures $16.2 Billion in Foreign Loans During Last Fiscal Year

ISLAMABAD (Commerce Desk) — During the last fiscal year, Pakistan obtained a total of $16.2 billion in foreign loans, including $1.7 billion in refinancing from China.

The government fell $3.72 billion short of its target for foreign loans and grants, securing $16.2 billion against the projected $19.92 billion, and therefore did not meet the annual target.

According to official data, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was the largest lender during the fiscal year, providing loans worth $953.74 million.
