Pakistan Seeks More Energy and Mineral Investments

Islamabad (Commerce Desk): Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held separate meetings with representatives of international energy companies, where discussions were held on promoting investment in Pakistan's energy and key minerals sectors.

The Federal Minister met with Gregory Bloom, President of US company Morgan Hughes Energy, and Ahmed Waleed, Chief Executive Officer of Tijara Capital. According to the statement, both companies are jointly working on mineral-related projects in Balochistan.

During the meeting, Gregory Bloom expressed interest in investing to increase production from Pakistan's existing oil and gas reserves. Ali Pervaiz Malik assured government support for increasing domestic energy production and promoting foreign investment.

The Federal Minister for Petroleum also met with Vitol Asia Chief Executive Karen Gallagher, where he congratulated the company on the successful launch of its bunkering operations in Gwadar.

The meeting also included detailed discussions on projects to convert high-sulfur fuel oil into low-sulfur fuel, investment opportunities under the new bonded storage policy, and expanding cooperation with global energy companies.

The government stated that Pakistan is continuing efforts to provide a favorable environment for foreign investment in the energy and minerals sectors.
