Pakistan Trade Deficit Reaches $39.5 Billion

Islamabad (Commerce Desk) – Pakistan’s trade deficit has reached 39.5 billion US dollars, according to the latest foreign trade data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The data shows that the trade deficit increased by 21.6% year-on-year in fiscal year 2025-26.

During the period, exports stood at 30.126 billion US dollars, reflecting a decline of around 6%, while imports rose to 69.597 billion US dollars, showing an increase of 7.9%.

In June 2026 alone, exports dropped by 16.7% to 2.239 billion US dollars, whereas imports surged by 24.1% to 6.767 billion US dollars, resulting in a monthly trade deficit of 4.528 billion US dollars.

The report further stated that the trade deficit in June increased by 63.8% compared to May, while also showing a significant rise on a year-on-year basis.
