Karachi (Sports Desk) Pakistan women’s cricket team defeated Zimbabwe women’s team by 168 runs in the first One Day International, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
In the match played in Karachi, Pakistan women’s team set a strong foundation after batting first. Openers Gull Feroza and Sidra Amin built a solid partnership of 162 runs.
Gull Feroza scored 50 runs before getting out, while Sidra Amin played an impressive innings of 98 runs, missing her century by just two runs. She hit 17 boundaries during her knock.
Sidra Nawaz scored 67 runs, while Najiha Alvi remained unbeaten on 56 runs.
In reply, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 162 runs in the 37th over. For the visiting side, B. Lodziba scored 53 runs and Kallis made 31 runs.
For Pakistan, Tasmia Rubab, Fatima Sana, and Aroob Shah delivered excellent bowling performances, taking 2 wickets each.
With this victory, Pakistan women’s team has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
