Lahore (Sports Desk) — Following their defeat against England in the Lord’s Test, the Pakistan cricket team’s overall Test record has turned negative for the first time since 1987.
The match played at Lord’s was Pakistan’s 473rd Test. Following the defeat, the national team’s number of victories stood at 153, while the number of defeats increased to 154.
Pakistan’s Test record had previously turned negative in August 1987. At that time, after a Test match against England at The Oval ended in a draw, Pakistan had played 170 Tests, winning 39 and losing 40.
Pakistan’s consistently poor performance in Test cricket over the past several years has once again brought the team to this position, clearly reflecting the ongoing crisis in the country’s Test cricket.
