LAHORE (Sports Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for the 2026-27 domestic cricket season, which will begin on August 11 in Multan.
According to the PCB, keeping preparations for the 2027 World Cup in view, the season will begin with the Champions Cup List A One-Day Tournament, while the Departmental One-Day Cup will also be part of the schedule.
In the new season, the number of teams has been increased from 18 to 20, representing 16 regions. Sialkot and Peshawar regions have also been given two regional teams each, similar to Lahore and Karachi.
The red-ball cricket season will include the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold and Silver, along with the President’s Trophy Grade One, Grade Two Gold, and Grade Two Silver tournaments.
The three President’s Trophy tournaments will begin on September 12, while the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold and Silver competitions will start from November 1.
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold will feature 8 teams, while the Silver division will include 12 teams. Both divisions will have first-class status, with the promotion and relegation system remaining in place.
According to the PCB, both National T20 Cup Gold and Silver tournaments will be held in Lahore from February 5 to March 6.
The domestic season will also include various competitions for junior players, including the Under-19 three-day tournament, National Under-19 Cup, National Under-19 Championship, National Under-15 One-Day Cup, and Under-17 Tournament.
