PCB approves one billion rupee increase in domestic cricket budget

Lahore (Sports Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved an increase of one billion rupees in the domestic cricket budget. Pakistan Cricket Board Lahore

A meeting of the Board of Governors, chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, was held as the 84th session of the board. During the meeting, Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza briefed the participants on the details and figures of the new financial year’s budget.

The meeting was attended by Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, and all directors.

The board unanimously approved the surplus budget for the fiscal year 2026–27, along with the budget for PSL 12 and its administrative and financial autonomy. Pakistan Super League

It was decided to increase the domestic cricket budget from 3 billion rupees to 4 billion rupees. Approval was also given for a new central contract format, revised payment structure, and an increase in match fees for national players.

The match fee for Quaid-e-Azam Trophy players has been increased from 30,000 rupees to 100,000 rupees. Funds were also approved for organizing women’s ODI and T20 tournaments, activating 12 additional grounds, and human resource development. Quaid-e-Azam Trophy

The reserve players’ match fee has been increased from 15,000 to 50,000 rupees, while the minimum salary for regional ground staff has been set at 42,000 rupees.

Funds worth 6.7 billion rupees were also approved for upgrading infrastructure, including the National Bank Cricket Stadium Karachi. National Bank Cricket Stadium Karachi

Approval was also granted for the installation of a biomechanics machine at the High Performance Centre in Lahore.

The meeting also ratified previous decisions, and senior officials along with members of the Board of Governors attended the session.
