KARACHI (Commerce Desk) — The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has rejected the government's proposed petroleum price deregulation policy and called for it to be reviewed.
Association Chairman Nauman Ali Butt said that the government should reconsider the proposed policy and avoid placing its burden on petrol pump owners.
He said that all stakeholders, including Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), should be taken into confidence before determining petroleum prices so that a mutually agreed and practical policy can be formulated.
According to Nauman Ali Butt, nearly 15,000 petrol pump owners across the country have serious reservations about the proposed price deregulation policy and urged the government to consult all relevant stakeholders before making a final decision.
