Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar) — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, who briefed him on the country’s weather conditions and the flood situation caused by monsoon rains.
The Prime Minister directed that all available resources be used to provide every possible assistance and relief to people in flood-affected areas.
He also directed the NDMA to maintain effective coordination with the relevant provincial institutions and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), while appreciating the use of artificial intelligence and modern technology at the National Emergencies Operation Centre.
The NDMA chairman briefed the Prime Minister on the country’s overall weather situation, particularly the flood situation caused by monsoon rains, and the relief activities underway in affected areas.
He said that with the cooperation of the federal government, NDMA relief operations would continue in flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
