Makkah (Monitoring Desk) — The replacement of the Kaaba’s covering will, as every year, take place at the beginning of the Islamic Hijri year on the 1st of Muharram.
A special ceremony was held for the handover of the new covering of the Holy Kaaba, during which the new Kiswah was formally handed over to the Keeper of the Kaaba.
The Kaaba covering, known as the Kiswah, is replaced every year through a well-organized spiritual ceremony, which holds special significance in the Islamic world.
On this occasion, a large amount of silk, silver, and gold thread has been used in the preparation of the new covering, which is made with great skill and dedication.
Special arrangements will be made for the installation of the new Kiswah on the 1st of Muharram, during which the Holy Kaaba will be draped with the new covering.
This spiritually uplifting ceremony is considered an important expression of devotion and spiritual attachment for Muslims around the world.
