President and Prime Minister Extend Greetings to Nation on 86th Pakistan Day

Islamabad (Pakistan News): On the occasion of the 86th Pakistan Day, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt greetings to the nation, emphasizing the importance of unity, stability, and national resolve.

In his message, President Zardari said that March 23, 1940, was a historic day when Muslims of the subcontinent passed the Pakistan Resolution, envisioning an independent homeland where life could be led according to Islamic values. He paid tribute to the sacrifices and struggles of the nation’s forefathers, whose efforts made Pakistan a reality.

He further noted that at the time of Pakistan’s creation, the country faced numerous challenges, yet the nation overcame them through cooperation and hard work. Pakistan established strong state institutions, made its defense capabilities invincible, and achieved nuclear power. The successful fight against terrorism and the nation’s solidarity during natural disasters were also highlighted as commendable achievements.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan Day commemorates the unity of Muslim leadership in laying the foundation for an independent state. He emphasized that the ideology of Allama Iqbal provided the basis for a state where Muslims’ constitutional and political rights would be safeguarded.

The Prime Minister added that Pakistan’s creation on August 14, 1947, was the result of the sacrifices of forefathers, and the nation has demonstrated resolve and courage through every trial. Pakistan’s journey from a newborn state to a nuclear power is a story of perseverance and steadfast determination.
