Islamabad (Pakistan News): Proceedings to declare Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Junaid Akbar, and Abdul Ghani Afridi as proclaimed offenders have been initiated.
According to a report submitted by police before the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad, a progress report has been filed in the case registered at Margalla Police Station regarding the incidents of November 26.
The report stated that a response to the court’s notices regarding the non-submission of challans against the accused has also been submitted.
Police informed the court that, following the order issued on June 23, 2026, non-bailable arrest warrants were obtained against the accused; however, despite efforts, the warrants could not be executed.
The police report stated that due to the failure to execute the arrest warrants, proceedings to declare the accused as proclaimed offenders have been started according to the law.
According to the report, after completion of the proclaimed offender proceedings, the preparation of the challan under Section 173 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) is in its final stages, and it will be submitted to the court once completed.
The report submitted by the DIG Islamabad stated that there has been no negligence, delay, or lack of effort at any stage of the case proceedings, and all necessary steps are being taken according to the law.
