ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Meta have signed a Letter of Intent to promote online safety for children and young people, foster a secure digital environment, and enhance digital well-being.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will strengthen cooperation in various areas related to online content safety, the promotion of secure digital platforms, and user protection in Pakistan.
PTA and Meta will jointly undertake initiatives to enhance the online safety of children and young people, promote responsible digital behavior, conduct public awareness campaigns, engage in policy dialogue, and strengthen institutional capacity.
As part of this partnership, both organizations will also cooperate in building the capacity of relevant institutions, benefiting from international best practices, and developing effective strategies to address online risks, with the aim of providing a safer and more reliable digital environment, particularly for young users.
On the occasion, PTA Chairman Hafeez ur Rehman said that the authority’s primary objective is to provide users with a safe, reliable, and responsible digital environment.
He said that the partnership with Meta would play an important role in promoting responsible online behavior among children and young people, increasing digital awareness, and further strengthening online safety mechanisms.
The PTA Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of both organizations to work together to further enhance digital safety standards in Pakistan through joint efforts.
