PTA Sets Minimum Validity of Mobile Recharge Balance at 180 Days

Islamabad (Web Desk): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has set a minimum validity period of 180 days for prepaid recharge balances of all mobile operators to protect consumer interests.

According to the PTA, the new decision will take effect from October 1, 2026.

The authority clarified that if the balance expires while the SIM remains active, the expired balance will automatically be restored when the user recharges again and can then be used by the customer.

The PTA said the measure has been introduced to protect consumer rights and promote a fair business environment.
