Lahore (Sports Desk): Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan has revealed that he was offered citizenship and the opportunity to play for the national cricket teams of India and Australia, but he firmly declined the offers.
According to international media, Rashid Khan said that in 2023, a prominent figure advised him to leave Afghanistan, settle permanently in India, and play cricket there. However, he made it clear that he would only represent his own country.
He added that he had received similar offers on several occasions in the past as well, but his decision has always remained the same—that if he does not play for Afghanistan, he will not play for any other country.
Rashid Khan stated that Afghanistan will always remain his first and last priority, and he considers representing his country in cricket his greatest honor.
