Reopening Strait of Hormuz a Consensus Demand of Global Community: China

Beijing (Monitoring Desk) Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is a consensus demand of the international community and that restoring normal activities in this vital maritime route is essential. According to an official Chinese statement, he made these remarks during a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, stating that as a coastal country, Iran’s sovereignty, security, and legitimate rights should be fully respected.

Wang Yi emphasized ensuring freedom of navigation and safe passage in the Strait of Hormuz, as the restoration of this route holds great importance at the global level. Describing the current situation as highly sensitive, he said that conditions have entered a delicate phase between war and peace, though prospects for peace still exist.

On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed determination that Iran will continue efforts to find a practical and realistic path through peaceful negotiations to resolve the issues.
