Islamabad (Pakistan Desk): Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the growing population is among the major challenges facing Pakistan, and timely and effective measures are necessary to address it.
Addressing a seminar held in Islamabad on the occasion of World Population Day, the Finance Minister said that the establishment of the National Population Council is an important step toward population-related policymaking and better planning.
He said that adopting a comprehensive and coordinated strategy to tackle issues such as population growth and climate change is the need of the hour. Funds have also been allocated for various measures aimed at maintaining a balance in population growth.
Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that the rapid increase in population is continuously putting pressure on the country’s available resources, making effective planning and practical steps essential.
